Meet Michielle!
I’m a licensed therapist providing over 14 years of therapy services to clients throughout the Metro Atlanta area. I earned my Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University. I have worked in an inpatient hospital setting, but most of my career has been at a nonprofit organization providing therapy services to a wide diversity of clients experiencing trauma and abuse. In 2019, I decided to open my own practice in Avondale Estates, about 5 minutes outside of Decatur, GA.
Diversity in my clientele is very important to me and my practice. I ascribe to the Multicultrual and Feminist theoretical frameworks of counseling and this really shows in the diversity of my clients. I work with clients of all backgrounds including Latinx, Black, White, and Asian individuals, as well as clients who identify as part of the LGBTQ community.
I work best with clients that have decided that they are ready to make a change in their lives. These clients recognize that they have been struggling for quite some time and are finally at a point in their lives where they are ready to make some changes. Even if they aren't aware what those changes look like, they know that they need to start thinking differently. This is where I come in. I am here to help facilitate the growth, self awareness, and steps needed to produce these changes that will translate to self-actualization.
My specialty is working with women going through many of life's transitions, including, adolescence, adulthood, relationships, marriage/divorce, motherhood, career change, etc. I also have 13 years of experience working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence. Finding healing and peace after trauma is possible.
